Saturday-8 :: Any Queer Eyes?

Today is National Coming-Out Day. To celebrate, today's questions will be about the show "Queer Eye for the Straight Guy."

1. do you watch the show? if so, how often? are you a dedicated viewer? if you don't, why not? Nope, never hears of it.

2. considering that many of the designers on the show Trading Spaces are heterosexual, do you think that gay men are naturally better at decorating? No. I have many that have the worst decorating style, and a couple that are very good at it. I don't think that really matters if you are gay or not, it's if you have the vision to decorate.

3. if you also watch Trading Spaces (or any other re-design show), how do you think that Thom Felecia of Queer Eye's designs compare? Don't know who that is.

4. one 'gripe' my friends have is that Ted (the food connoisseur) flies through his cooking directions for the straight guy in 5 minutes ... or so it seems with editing. more often than not, the straight screws up the meal portion. is it possible to teach a straight guy to cook, or should he just rely on take-out for momentous occasions? They can cook. We went to a friends house last night for thanksgiving supper and the husband did most of the cooking, the wife did most of the prep. He is a really amazing cook.

5. i feel that the grooming guru, kyan douglas, is not 100% homosexual. between his non-gay hairstyle and the way that he's stared slack-jawed at various women's breasts (note: the george the greek epi), my friends & i have concluded that kyan is definitely bisexual. if one of the fab 5 were not truly homosexual, would you stop watching the show? I wouldn't stop, but at the same time, I haven't started.

6. do you really think that jai, the culture guy, has a true role in the 'spiffing up' of the straight guy? huh?

7. since watching the show, have you changed any personal habits, especially if you're a straight guy? if so, what are those changes? Nope, but maybe I will check out this show, wonder when it is on?

8. do you think that Queer Eye is a positive show or a negative show, as some people have argued that it's a stereotypical "gay men have more style and fix up the poor straight guy" vehicle. what are your thoughts? Isn't this show a sitcom of sorts, either way it is for entertainment, who really cares.
