Saturday 8 - how secure are you.

Saturday-8: Safe or Folly

In today's world we still have carryover habits from when things used to be all rosy colored glasses. Or do we? Perhaps we

never lock our doors, we freely talk about all kinds of things, leave personal information everywhere we go. So in this Saturday8 lets explore a

few of those things and see if you play it Safe or Folly.M/p>

1. When you get credit card offers in the mail do you just toss them or shred them? I shred them the best I can, with a pair of scissors, we recycle, so why take chances.

2. When you receive email advertisements, have you ever clicked on them to see what they are, or do you delete them? Every once in a while I do click on them, and then get stupid e-mails ads that feel my mail box. That is when I stop for a while again.

3. Do you use you real mother's maiden name when asked for it, or do you make one up? I use her real one, but I am rarely ever asked the question.

4. Do you carry your actual social security card with you or maybe just a copy missing a number or so? No I dont, it is at home, I have number memorized, and if someone wants to see it so badly they can wait a day or two.

5. Do you use your real phone number or address when filling out surveys or forms or make one up, perhaps transposing numbers? My address is a box, so I do use it, and I use my phone number too, but I dont fill out a lot of surveys.

6. As a child, did you ever where a shirt with your name on it, or if you have children does any of their shirts have their names on them or are they all non descript? No I never, I think that my backpack had my name though, none of Sydneys stuff has names on it but, she starts kindergarten in a month so that will change.

7. If you shop online, do you use several credit cards, maybe even your debit card or do you use just one credit card only and perhaps with a low balance? Only the one, and it I dont have enough money to have a high balance.

8. Do you give out or confirm your social security number just because they ask it of you, or do you make them confirm your identity another way? Usually I am asked for confirmation another way.

So, how did you do. Were you playing it safe, or are you now having second thoughts? Be safe and have a nice week until the next Saturday8!
