Things could always be worse.
written @ 12:11 p.m. on 2003-06-29

Life with a new kitten is quite amusing. She attacks everything that moves. She loves to cuddle. She runs around the house in circles until you are dizzy from watching. All of this has been a breath of fresh air for us.

We finally decided on a name for her. She is Lily. We wanted a really great unique name, but Sydney would not agree to any of them, so a compromise was reached. I just couldn't call her rainbow, or fluffy, it was just wrong.

Peter has gone to work today, with any luck for a few days. Things have gotten pretty bad. Yesterday he went to the bank to apply for a loan. Right now we already have two. One will be paid off next month and the other in February next year. This is a large feat for us, after the credit card debit we had gotten ourselves in to when Sydney was born. We didn't want much, just enough to catch us up on the bills weve put on the bottom of the list since Peter has been not working. But they say we have to consolidate our one credit card and our two other payments instead, because we already have a consolidation loan. So if we are approved(we find out this week) it will be another two years rather then next Feb before it is paid off, and we still will have none of the bills we have fallen behind on paid off. Sadly these loans don't work for utilities or groceries. These are the only ones we have been having trouble with. We have never missed a mortgage, car, or loan payment, but the things that don't come out of our account on their own we cannot keep up with. Did I mention that this loan is not quite what I had in mind, but Peter went by himself, and he seems to think this is the answer to all of our problems. You should never allow the person who never pays any bills go on their own to the bank, or this is the mess you may end up with.

The slow season is almost over for Peter at work, and so things should go back to normal soon. Sylvia has offered to give me more hours at the store, if I want them, so starting next week I will be taking them. With any luck this should help out, luckily Sydney can come with me, so no babysitter costs for me.

Trevor is leaving in a month and a half, and Marion will be here in just less than two. How are we ever going to do this? I sure hope that she can go from being a rich kid to your lifestyle easily. Well either way we are going to be fine after one or two paychecks, so don't worry about us. We have been in much worse trouble and came out on top.

Positive thinking, thats the ticket to everything turning out all right.
