Father's Day
written @ 11:28 a.m. on 2003-06-15

Happy Fathers Day, to anyone reading this who is a dad.

Peters started off pretty well. He got to sleep in. He got lucky. He had breakfast. He opened presents and cards. From there it wasn't so great, he had to go to work at 11:00. With any luck he will be home early enough to watch a movie or something with Sydney. She got him Treasure Planet, so they could watch it together. This is one their favorite things to do so that gift went over well.

Yesterday we took Bug and Morgan to Barrhead's fair, which sucked. It was worse then the one here. They sent out flyers saying there would be rides for the kids, but there was not. We couldn't even find any cotton candy. So we took them for pizza, and hit the doolar store where they each got a flower pinwheel, a game, 2 books, and each a balloon. They had fun doing this at least.

On the way home we stopped at Trapper Lea's(a campsite with a historic site, the first settlers log house in northern alberta, which still stands). Across the road is this amazingly large beaver dam, this is where we went. From the road it looks like water stairs, especially in winter. When you get up close it looks like a pond that just stops in mid air. The dam is almost 15 ftfrom one level of water to the next. Truely it is amazing, then there is on more level, but we didn't go to see what a drop down it was. The kids got to watch the beavers, who were happy to go along on their daily routine. The kids were so excited, to see one so close up. Then a mommy duck with 6 very small ducklings appeared and the kids were ready to jump in to catch them. Anyways this is when the kids had the best time of the whole trip.

I am working on changing my layout today. I have on that I like, but this is going to take forever to figure out. I have the working code in notepad(a tip from trevor) and the background saved someplace else(another tip from trevor), now I just need to figue out how to put them together and transfer all of my entries(i need another tip from trevor). Wish me luck, this could take some time.
